DIAGONAL STRIDE TECHNIQUE (POSTURE)
Thanks to Mark Doble, Head Coach at NDC for this video of Jordan Cascagnette.
Pause the video as Jordan's recovery foot passes his weighted foot; note the position of his knees and ankles-both have quite acute angles. Also note the relative position of his hips in relation to his heels in this position-because he is pressing his knees and ankles, his hips are moving forward. This is what we mean by "get your hips forward".
However, note that when he is on a glide ski, his hips are "back" so that he can glide.

Classic Technique
This video was taken in July/07 after Kikkan won her first World Cup race in Rybinsk. It gives a really good insight into her thinking on technique which has helped her to become one of the best skiers in the world.
